The Best Beaches Closest to Orlando
If you are from Orlando and went to spend some weekends on the beach, then you should find the beaches that are closest to you. Most of the near beaches takes about an hour or so drive from Orlando. At least five popular beaches on the East Coast of Florida are well worth the drive. And here they are.
The Cocoa Beach is about an hour and 5 minutes drive from Orlando. From this beach you can view the launching place of space shuttles in nearby Cape Canaveral. It is great to visit Cocoa beach because the beach and shoreline are safe and clean. Here there are many stores, eateries, and retail shops. It has a wide parking lot, large picnic pavilions, picnic tables, walkways, a bathhouse with outdoor showers and restrooms.
Daytona beach is an hour an 7 minutes drive from Orlando. Cars, racing, and arts, culture, and heritage is found in this place which is famous for the Daytona International Speedway. Unlike the Cocoa beach, cars are allowed to cruise the beach and park there. So many people roll down their car windows and cruise the sands of Daytona beach. Watersports, motorcycle racing, kart racing, deep sea fishing, and golfing are just some of the activities that you can enjoy in Daytona Beach. You can also find here world-class dining and shopping. An house and 8 minutes drive from Orland is the Ponce Inlet. It has a wide beach with thick sand to drive on. You can do many watersports here including jet skiing, parasailing, fishing and renting a speedboat. Florida’s tallest lighthouse is also located here and which is challenging to climb. This beach boasts of its many adventures, nature, and awe-inspiring beauty.
If you want to go to the New Smyrna Beach, then it will take you an hour and 3 minutes to reach from Orlando. This is a charming beach that is famous for surfing activity. Here you can enjoy driving on the hard-packed sand on the beach. This is a place where you can enjoy many watersports, fishing, and riding the waves.
The Canaveral National Seashore is an hour and fifteen minutes for Orlando. Their dunes are very impressive and the empty sands are vast. It is a very tranquil place with the longest expanse of pristine shore in Florida. Here you can swim, fish, hike or simply unwind on the beach. You wont find basic necessities in this part so make sure to bring something to eat, water, sunscreen and insect repellent.
